Hi, I'm Karen and food is my love language.
Cooking and baking is how I show love to those around me. To me, nothing feels more comforting than the smell of cinnamon and vanilla in the air or the warmth of a freshly baked loaf of bread. Some of my best memories as a child involve walking into my grandmother’s house after church on Sunday and enjoying her homemade cinnamon rolls or freshly fried donuts. I started The Berlin Baking Co. to share my love for baking with my friends and community and to inspire my clients to build new memories and traditions with their families and friends.

As a wife and mother in Center Grove, Indiana, I saw a need in the community for premium custom made-to-order desserts and centerpieces for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. Every order is designed specifically for you and your special event.
The Berlin Baking Co. is a locally owned cake shop that specializes in custom cakes, made-to-order desserts, cupcakes, cookies, macarons, pastries, Bundts, and artisan breads. Located in Center Grove, Greenwood, Indiana, we have developed special hand made from scratch recipes for all of our cakes including keto cakes and gluten-free cakes. Our buttercream frosting is made with only 100% sweet cream butter, not vegetable shortening. We specialize in custom cake decorating that is tailored specifically to you and your event.

A great cake has to taste great and look beautiful. It has always been one of our great priorities to make the highest quality cakes that taste amazing. Our cakes are made from scratch and mixed one-by-one; butter, flour, sugar, eggs, milk. Real, fresh, whole food ingredients made by hand when you order. Our frosting is made using butter, sugar, and vanilla; we never use vegetable shortening.
It doesn’t feel like a birthday unless there is a fabulous cake, does it?
From the scents and sounds of preparation, noticing textures and temperatures, the visual appeal of colors and shapes, and finally the nuances of flavor combinations- enjoying good food is an experience that involves all of the senses and can invoke deep feelings and memories.
